THE PLYWOOD COW
I wanted to build you a plywood cow
But when I got started I didn’t know how.
I bought all the paint the wood and the glue
Then I found out there was much more to do
There’s sketching and sawing and painting and more
Plus sanding and sealing and holes to bore.
And eyes and ears and udders to add
It seemed like a serious problem I had.
Then I thought maybe I’d buy a real cow
But that doesn’t fit in my budget right now.
Real cows are fun but take lots of care
And I recently read they’re polluting our air.
So since I can’t buy one or build one for you
I hope that my other idea will do.
It will be less work and just as much fun
‘Cause I’ll serve it to you well done on a bun.
